TRACY MORGAN GAY BASHES & APOLOGIZES

During one of his recent comedy routines, 30 Rock actor Tracy Morgan made some really offensive, anti-gay statements. At one point, the actor said that if he had a son who was gay, he “better talk to me like a man and not in a gay voice or I’ll pull out a knife and stab” him to death. Right after his rant, Morgan stood behind his “jokes” making some even more offensive statements. This all went down on June 3rd and it took the actor a week to finally issue a statement saying that he “clearly went too far” and that he’s not a hateful person. You can read more at TMZ.

TIDBIT: Bullying other individuals for any reason is not okay. Head to ItGetsBetter.org to learn more about overcoming bullying

Tina Fey Responds To Tracy Morgan’s Homophobic Comments

Tina Fey, Morgan’s co-star on NBC’s ’30 Rock,’ has issued a statement condemning Morgan’s comments. Calling him “too self-centered to ever hurt another person,” Fey said she hopes Morgan’s apology will be “accepted as sincere by his gay and lesbian co-workers” who make the show possible:  “The violent imagery of Tracy’s rant was disturbing to me at a time when homophobic hate crimes continue to be a life-threatening issue for the GLBT Community. It also doesn’t line up with the Tracy Morgan I know, who is not a hateful man and is generally much too sleepy and self-centered to ever hurt another person. I hope for his sake that Tracy’s apology will be accepted as sincere by his gay and lesbian co-workers at ’30 Rock’, without whom Tracy would not have lines to say, clothes to wear, sets to stand on, scene partners to act with, or a printed-out paycheck from accounting to put in his pocket.”
