Special Report from OSTV correspondent Blake Hayes

Most recent data from The American Association of Suicidology reported 4,000 young people (between the ages of 15-24 ) committed suicide in 2007 - that's 75 every week.  With LGBT teens being four times more likely than straight to take their own lives...well, you can do the math. LGBT youth committing suicide is nothing new. It's finally getting the attention it deserves and it's about time the country's paying attention.  Now let's come together and stand up the youth of America. You are not alone. It does get better.

OURsceneTV sends our thoughts and prayers to each family who suffered from this tragedy.  Our commitment to change the world in which we live is unwavering.

RESOURCES:

THE HETRICK-MARTIN INSTITUTE - providing services to at-risk LGBT youth since 1979.

The combat veteran who came out on Rachel Maddow tells his whole story here!

Lt. Daniel Choi is a former US Army officer who was discharged under Don't Ask, Don't Tell after he came out on "The Rachel Maddow Show." The West Point graduate and Iraq combat veteran's statement made headlines and waves in the media and in Washington DC.

Here for the first time, Lt. Choi shares the details of how he came out to family and friends, long before his Rachel Maddow appearance. In this exclusive interview, Lt. Choi tells his story, not as a representative of the US government, nor the military, but in his own words. And let's just say there's more than a few twists in the tale!"

What did his Southern Baptist minister father say? What happened when he came out to an Iraqi friend? You'll hear it here. The military may not love a gay man in uniform, but we sure do!
